Spain Booted Out From Euro By The Italians.

Spain's dreams of defending and clinching the European title for the third successive year were dashed by the resilient Italian team on Monday.
Two goals from Giorgio Chiellini and Graziano Pelle were enough to send the outgoing champions parking.

Spain failed to tear apart the strong defence of Italy with the guarded well by the veteran experienced goal keeper Gigi Buffon.

The Italians opened their scoring in the 33rd after David De Gea failed to hold on to the thunder bolt from Elder only to find Chiellini unmarked to smash it home. The second goal came deep down the death of the game through Pelle who beat the defence of Spain to lob in a shot from close range.

Spain tried to create some chances but failed capitalise due to their blunt striking force. This loss shows that Spain is now history, the name which was holding a heavy weight has gone with sad moments.

No one fears Spain now, because its days of dictating the football pitch are gone and dusted, and this is somehow the greatest sadness to the team loved by many.

This was the first time for Italy to beat Spain in major tournament since 1994. In 2012, Spain smashed Italy 4-0 in the Euro final to be crowned the champions for the second time.
Italy will face Germany in the next game.

AN INTRODUCTION TO SPORTS IN BOTSWANA.

This former British protectorate like Malawi ,Bechwanaland became an independent country in 1966. The country is mostly flat and largely a desert territory which makes it perfect for certain sports like Desert Race which is held annually in July that consist of 1,000 km. of some of the roughest terrain on earth. This kind of competition is not new to Botswana and even to the other  countries in africa. In Botwasan they have got a race of their own involving some of the animals like donkfys which has been happening for a really long time now.
But bear in mind that the most popular sport in Botswana is football, no matter how failure they are, due to the British influence in the country. Other popular sports include cricket, rugby, tennis, softball, badminton, golf and track , field and volleyball.

As a matter of fact, their only Olympic medal to date is from Nijel Amos who took the silver medal for the 800m in the 2012 London Olympic Games since they first participated in the Olympics in 1980.
He is not the only athlete that has made a name for himself in athletics.

Other athletes from this country includes 800m runner, Glody Dube who made a name in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Following his trail are California Molefhe and Amantle Montsho (both 400m runners), Gable Garenamotse (long jump) and finally Kabelo Kgosiemang (high jump) was a three-time African champion.
